Our pooch has the look in his eyes like the end is near. His third eye lid is inflamed.. He is our last one and 11 years old, and man... It is a remnder of my own mortality this time around.
He has a yeast infection.. We payed 500+ dollars on a first vet visit to try and clear it up with diagnosis and meds. We have been trying to beat it on our own.. He has a pillow around his kneck. We tried a steroid.
My last dog died suddenly almost 2 years ago from a tumor on his spleen that burst. Never even knew he had it.
9 years old. One minute playing,the next can't hardly stand. I rushed him to the vet and when the vet came in I could see it in his eyes.
I has to let him go. Hardest day of my life.
3 months later I got a call from his breeder telling me they had a male for me from his lineage if I wanted him.
I got him.. Descended from my first dogs sister and a working line sire.
This guy will be 2 in August. He's a lot like the first one in regards to intelligence and drive but is a bit larger and totally different color.
The last one was a perfect example of the breed standard. 24" tall 90 pounds.
This guy is 26" tall and just a little over 100 pounds. By the time he's done filling out the vet estimates he should be 110 to 115 pounds. A brute in the German Shepherd world. He's also Sable colored where the last one was a black and tan bi color. He' been with me on every Bigfoot expedition in B.C.since I got him at 8 weeks. Never leaves my side. He's laying at my feet right now.
