So, I happened upon this article from about a year ago.
It is saying China is in a very real economic struggle and a disgruntled populace.

Is this why Trump saw an opportunity to "help" their slide?
@Cannonpointer  has pointed out the Iran/Strait of Hormuz thingie was a backdoor to cause China very real problems. This article claims Xi's grip is showing signs of weakness. Change was/is coming for China.
Seems this article backs up CP's stance. The Iran situation is doing Xi and China no favors...
