You skipped us GenXers. We are always skipped over.
I have my own theory. The blame doesn't solely lie on the politicians. Yes, obviously they instigate it all. However, we need to back up one step. These leaders in Washington have been voted in for several terms. Some will serve one term, but usually they serve multiple terms. Congress has a history of having an atrocious approval rating. Even down to 13% one time. Yet, we keep voting the same ones in until they are old and senile.
Theory: The people have lowered the bar for candidates to win elections. We sent a message that one does not need to earn public trust to get into office. Just talk convincingly, say the right things at the right time, and you are in.
