South Carolina sits much closer to the massive refining hubs of the Gulf Coast (like Texas and Louisiana) and benefits from direct pipeline access. New Hampshire is further from these hubs and relies heavily on fuel imported via ships or pipelines that travel further up the East Coast, adding to transportation costs.
