A water tank is a battery..  solar or wind could lift it.

I am suburban..  and getting more urban everyday with migrants from DC/Baltmore..   

The Earth Tube sounds like it will work..   I am more interested in high temp phase transition materials in a closed loop.. Earth tubes can grow mold.

It might be useless, but there are a ton of you tubes of some really cool shyt people do.
