I see that you do not understand that the track map showed that 8 days from land fall it shows Dorian crossing Mid FL towards the Gulf in a slight NW direction.  Now, while the track dramatically shifted 3 or 4 days later you don't understand that track showed that is was very possible AL could have felt something of the storm.
