One of the responses:Your original problem was EVER trusting the regulators. The only safe approach is to assume that everything the government does is either grift, graft, or just wrong due to stupidity/malfeasance/human nature. The less the government does the better...the exceptions to this rule can be counted on the fingers of no hands.
