During a tense Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing, Senator Josh Hawley accused Dr. Anthony Fauci of profiting off the COVID-19 pandemic by using taxpayer-funded federal staff to pursue more than $1 million in personal cash awards and prizes.Because Dr. Fauci repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during the hearing, Senator Hawley leveled several sharp, direct accusations.
