Trump and his enablers did this to themselves while the rest of the world just sat back and watched them self destruct.
Iran tried to negotiate but trump bungled any deal because he isn't tethered to reality. They even brought psychologists versed in trump's mental incapacity in to help negotiate with him.
To no avail. He's too far gone so now they'll wait to negotiate with someone that has an idea on how to make a deal.
