 The Daily Mail reported Friday that Paxton had been “caught in a shocking sex scandal” involving Tracy Duhon, a 57-year-old author and mother of seven. She’s the former wife of a Louisiana-based businessman who owns the Premier Automotive dealership group.

 Paxton, 62, met Duhon at the 2024 Kentucky Derby when she was still married, and the pair stayed at the home of a mutual friend during the visit, according to the Daily Mail, which cited “multiple” unnamed sources allegedly familiar with the incident.

And if you suspected, for even a moment, that this is as **** stupid as these people get....

Paxton’s wife, Angela, a Republican state senator, filed for a divorce of her own in early July, stating in a tweet that she sought the breakup of their 38-year marriage on “biblical grounds.”

 “I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation,” Angela Paxton wrote. “But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.”

 The Daily Mail report is only the latest political baggage for Paxton as he takes on incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn in next year’s GOP primary.
 The Texas House voted in 2023 to impeach Paxton over allegations of bribery and abuse of office, however the state Senate ultimately decided not to convict. Among the complaints of misconduct were accusations that Paxton had an extramarital affair with a woman he later recommended for a job with a key political donor.

CNN  —  State Sen. Angela Paxton, the wife of embattled Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, will no longer be allowed to vote in her husband’s upcoming impeachment proceedings as a result of new rules the state Senate approved Wednesday night.

 The Dallas-area Republican state senator had previously vowed to “carry out (her) duties” and not recuse herself from voting in her husband’s upcoming impeachment trial.

 But following delays and closed-door negotiations, the state Senate adopted new rules ahead of Ken Paxton’s September 5 impeachment trial, which now include barring the spouses of members who are the subject of impeachment proceedings from voting.

Which, given that this is Texas, didn't so much as dent its senate's reputation for probity..
