Maybe they did. Still, it was a matter of industrial capitalism vs slave plantation economy. #1 was going to prevail sooner or later. It was inevitable.

And I guess I have to accept humanity will be a slaves to AI.  The point I am trying to make is that the North vs South thing is parralelled today with a different kind of dividing line.
