I heard about this. I have a Facebook friend who owns a cattle ranch. Her and husband have been doing it for decades. There is a lot of factors that go into the cattle market. Just to raise one calf from beginning to end, they have feed and maintain a cow essentially all year to produce one calf. Ranchers pay for pasture, hay, mineral supplements, veterinary care, vaccines, fuel, fencing, equipment, water, labor, and breeding expenses long before that calf is sold. The land prices are high and the products to maintain a healthy cow for a year is enormous. This might break them. 

She said that this will, not might, but will bankrupt many ranchers.
