1.) Conservatives used to oppose (vehemently) abortion. It was found over a fairly short timeframe that even conservatives found it to be a necessary procedure. So we are now at a stage where this acquiescence to a need outweighed a wish. A nod to human nature (mistakes, hormones, etc.) basically.

2.) Liberals have allowed wishes to overtake even their common sense (dubious as that is much of the time). The extreme and largely rejected notions of a few have yet to come full circle. See #1. It is hoped the next few months will be the slap to finally bring the hysterics to a close.

Conservatives can compromise even on something as deeply important as killing babies.
Can liberals manage the spine to compromise (or fully reject tantrum-fueled progressives)?

I see libs reject friends and family far more than any conservatives. That isn't "firm principles" in action.
That's usurped principles when you are basically talked into rejecting people in your life...
like having no principles at all.
Well said…politics is a game…unless one part is in complete control…it’s a game of compromises. If that doesn’t happen, you end up with the **** we’ve seen for the couple of decades…adequately coined as “the do nothing congress”…
