If I did not listen to country radio, then I never would have heard of this guy. Some of his song lyrics are quite good, but I don’t know how much he contributes to his collaborations. It’s still too much “cross over” and pop culture for me, which is really his claim to fame.
His music is indistinguishable from everything else that plays on modern "country" radio. It all sounds identical. It will never be seen as "classic" stuff. In 20-30 years from now, it will be as if it never existed.
