My dad left, but he didn't say nothing. His last rejoinder to the family was, "You're not gonna have Delford Cannonpointer to kick around anymore." Then he did that Italian-American off-the-chin salute and peeled out on his bicycle, headed in the general direction of Dallas. Also of the local Wendy's. And of Los Angeles.

We never saw him again. I believe he was killed by ***.
