Looking over various sources on the internet on this issue, it seems like most beekeepers bearly break even, because the expenses are so great.
 
If you were honest, you would give provide the correct answer, which is no. You cannot buy a house and raise 3 kids on the income of a beekeeper.

And I would then inform you that before there was 'capitalism'...going back a few centuries...you absolutely could.

also, you could in Germany in the 1930s...but that is all ruined now.

You're listening to some small operator with 200 hives??

I know beeks that run 1500-2500 hives and make TRIPLE what this clown makes Not to mention 200 hives is only tiny drop in the bucket to what the big commercial guys run.

AND if you consider what his operation is designed to do, its only able to meet a couple of the things Larger Commercial operations can do with honey production, pollination services, queen rearing, and other aspects of income production beekeeping activities. Not to mention producing starter colonies for new beekeepers and those looking to expand operations. Sell 200 hives a year at 175-200 a pop and do the math. The costs there are MINIMAL since you are "making bees" from your own stock. 

So EDUCATE yourself from someone OTHER than this little operator who really have no clue.
