I have 2 dictionaries I rely on. One is 1913 and one is 1927.

There are a few self-proclaimed Astute Fellows in NHB that challenged me about some reading material.
Silly me, I went and read the very books they claimed (in one case: CHANGED MY LIFE) were oh, so important.
The changed-my-life dork always tried to be condescending to everyone here.
The book he revered so much was a great tell. It didn't change my life.
"20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" made more of an impact on me than that political story-telling.
