Rumble strips save hundreds of lives every year.
Our freeways inspire the world.
Government put a man on the moon, and brought him home again. AND his buddies.
Our roads are very well built, and they get safer every year.
When fire fighters run intlo burning buildings, is that chopped livah?
Do you think running an airport is a walk in the park?
Do you think keeping the skies open is a small thing?
Then there are bridges, and drainage for flood control, and dams, and levees.
The coast guard saves a lot of lives and even does a bit of drug interdiction and border control.

Here are some fun facts:

In 1940, there were 33,000 highway fatalities. A much, much smaller population had travelled 300 million miles.
In 2024, there were 39,000. The public had travelled more than 3 TRILLION miles.
For every mile the public travelled in 1940, it travelled 10,000 miles in 2024 - with very similar fatalities (less than 20% higher).
