Politico claims it is only four times as much, but I've seen several credible sources saying that by the time the Germans gassify it again, it is five times as much as they were paying the Russians, who never once faltered, never once delivered an excuse in lieu of gas.

If you look into this yourself, the first question you should ask is whether the nordstream carried gas in a gaseous state or a liquid state. You will find that the answer is a gaseous state - so it was suitable for immediate use. It did not have to be regassified, which is its own set of logistical problems and risks and expenses.

There are pipelines  rated for LNG?  
The liquid boils when the valve opens..
