Why did Bammy get the Nobel Peace Bowling Trophy?
I mean the Nobel Committee stated reasons.
Irena Sendler (also known as Irena Sendlerowa), a Polish humanitarian and social worker who courageously rescued approximately 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II.
There is a slight historical mix-up regarding the specific year and recipient, but the internet rumor stems from real events:
- The Nobel Connection: Irena Sendler was officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. She did not lose to Barack Obama (who won in 2009), but rather to former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Because of the proximity of the two dates, online stories frequently conflate the two years and claim she lost to Obama.
