I'm genuinely sorry to hear that. 

**** men cause tremendous and lasting psychological damage.

It will be to your enormous credit if you've stopped the cycle.

My parents split when I was 3. Across the Atlantic. 

For 8 years, he was a guy in America sending toys at Christmas and Beatles albums....don't know if I ever had any idea what he looked like.

I was 11 when my mother took me to meet him in a hotel room in Copenhagen.  

He was a complete stranger in wire rimmed glasses and a tailored suit.

We shook hands...

I got married and decided I would never abandon anyone

my brothers are the same way

wife's family are dysfunctional as hell...

had to toss my crazy brother in law yesterday

people are scared of him for good reason...dangerously **** nuts

yep...sucks to be fatherless when you're a little kid

Sorry you had to deal with it too...gives a little insight...puts a face on things

we are a product of life's experiences...unpleasant as it was at times
