Key Biblical Passages on Moral Inversion
Isaiah 5:20:
"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"
Meaning: It describes a society that flips right and wrong upside down, celebrating what God calls sinful and mocking or condemning what God calls righteous.
2 Timothy 3:1–5:
"There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy..."
Meaning: The Apostle Paul outlines a deep moral collapse where natural affection, truth, and reverence for God are replaced by selfishness and hostility toward what is good ("not lovers of the good").
Matthew 24:12:
"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold."
Meaning: Jesus warns that as lawlessness spreads during the end times, societal empathy and love for God will degrade drastically.
2 Timothy 4:3–4:
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
