(The Hill) — The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) responded on Monday to a much-criticized comment by first lady Jill Biden calling the Latino community “as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio,” saying that the remark was culturally inappropriate.“We are not tacos,” wrote the NAHJ in a statement criticizing Biden.
The NAHJ responded that “using breakfast tacos to try to demonstrate the uniqueness of Latinos in San Antonio demonstrates a lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the diversity of Latinos in the region.” The statement continued: “Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by a variety of diasporas, cultures and food traditions, and should not be reduced to a stereotype.”
Are you saying the (NAHJ) are IDIOTS, and know nothing about the border, Mexico, or tacos?
I am a graduate of NMSU and have lived on the border and in Mexico in Cd. Juárez, México, DF, and Guadalajara, Jalisco. I have visited 25 of Mexico's 32 states.
And the culture of San Antonio is not identical to the culture of the border country, or the culture of Laredo/Nuevo Laredo, each is similar but unique.
To say TB7 is as dumb as a sackful of rocks is also a metaphor and not a stereotype.
To say that TB7 is as ignorant as **** is not to deny that **** can be unique.
