If a person here illegally is arrested for a crime, why aren't they deported?

Any person here illegally arrested for anything should be immediately deported. They don't need to be convicted, they are already here illegally. Any arrest should be instant deportation.

Does that include those that let their visa expire after entering legally or just those that never went through the process of legally entering the country?

Degrees of illegality. Then there is the concept about being born on US soil gives instant citizenship to the infant, rule of law. That baby should stay the citizenship of the parents, so nobody divides up a family unit/generation gap of parent child relativity. Adults can choose to change citizenship, not geography of infant's birth.

Realities are developed by choice, ancestral position came by biological results so far.
