EDMONDS—Houston Curry Wade, 44, of Bainbridge Island, who was a part-time onsite faculty member teaching Physics and Astronomy at Edmonds College until 2022, was arrested on December 17, 2025, attempting to meet an 11-year-old girl for sexual activities, according to Bremerton Police. If convicted, Wade faces up to life in prison.

Wade is still in custody on the Kitsap County Jail facing six charges and a $750,000 bond:

• 9A.44.073(2) – RAPE OF A CHILD-1
• 9.68A.090(1) – COMMUNICATE W/MINOR-IMMORAL PURP
• 9A.44.083(2) – CHILD MOLESTATION-1
• 9.68A.100(2) – COMMERCIAL SEX ABUSE OF A MINOR
• 9.68A.100(2) – COMMERCIAL SEX ABUSE OF A MINOR
• 9.68A.090(2) – COMMUNICATE W/MINOR-IMMORAL PURP PREVIOUS CONVICTION

According to Kitsap County Superior Court documents obtained by the Lynnwood Times, Wade is being charged on only two counts:

• Class A Felony: Attempted Child Molest in the First Degree (V<12+D – 36 Months Older)
• Gross Misdemeanor: Communication With Minor for Immoral Purposes

According to Bremerton Police, Wade used a social media application to engage in graphic sexual conversations with a “decoy” he believed to be an 11-year-old child. Over multiple chats, the “chat turned graphic” and Wade he agreed to meet the “child” in Bremerton to act on the discussed sexual activities.
