U.S. economy is large and diversified enough that it does not rely on trade with Russia. Trade between the two countries has historically been small relative to total U.S. trade.

We have, "Europe must cut pensions and education to triple defense spending because the juggernaut will come for us next, after it defeats Coupkraine," and we have "Russia is collapsing. It is losing the war in Coupkraine. One more sanctions package should do the trick!

Your source is good as far as it goes. It is certainly accurate.

But if you would genuinely understand this war, you need to be aware that it was planned in detail during the Bush years. A paper from the Rand Corporation - a rightwing, neocon (zionist) think tank - lays out the strategy of capturing Ukraine and using it as a cudgel to bully the Russians into war, then sanctioning the **** out of the Russians to crash their economy, and then breaking up Russia into about 6 or 7 captive vassal states. NATURALLY, Russian intelligence was aware of this paper. I have seen it. I was hipped to it by the New Atlas Channel on youtube. So they tried to prevent it while also preparing for it. 

Here is how the west bullied Russia into the war: The US planted an anti-Russian coup government on Russia's border. HERE, you can listen to Hillary's second in command as the Obama administration implemented the Rand Corproation plan. She is speaking with the ambassadorto Ukraine (CIA, of course) about who they will put into the coup government. After the coup government was installed, it illegally outlawed the Russian language. And Polish, and Romanian, and Hungarian. Fun Fact: Krushchev gave pieces of Russia, Hungary, Poland, and Romania to Ukraine for administration, with the understanding that those districts would self-govern and educate and otherwise comport in their mother tongues in perpetuity, interactimg with the national government in Ukrainian but otherwise keeping their cultures. So this move - utterly against international law - was a stab in the back to millions of ethnic minority citizens. 

Under the "Big Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Partnership (1997)," Both nations expressly promised not to use their territories to threaten the other's security. Trying to join NATO is a gross violation of that treaty. It also violated Ukraine's Constitution, which requires perpetual military neutrality along the model of Switzerland. Russia required this when it agreed to allow Ukraine to declare an independent nation state for the first time in human history when the USSR broke up in 1991. Before that, the closest the Ukrainian people had ever come to an ethno-state was being allowed to be a vassal republic in the USSR. Coupkraine - as distinct from Ukraine - amended that Constitution in 2019, three years before the Russians finally invaded. But they weretalking aboutjoining NATO long before they amended their Constitution. So long as Ukraine had honored that Constitutional requirement, the nation of Ukraine was a permanent guarantee against a land war between east and west. In the context of history, this was a mighty blessing to humanity. 

Ukraine is now unapologetically seeking to make itself over as an ethno-state, outlawing all tongues but its own. Ukraine’s 2019 "Language Law" establishes Ukrainian as the sole, mandatory state language for public life, official duties, and media. Private conversations in minority languages are not strictly illegal, but ethnic Poles, Russians, Hungarians, and Romanians are no longer allowed to educate their children or administer their oblasts in their mother tongues. If an elderly ethnic Hungarian deals with the state and cannot speak Ukrainian, a bilingual service worker risks job loss and even arrest if she or he dares be helpful (this is what republicans attempt to institute when they demand laws requiring 'english as the official language').

If Russia had done in Mexico what the US did in Ukraine, everyone on this board would firmly comprehend the necessity of the US invading Mexico and forcing a change in government. There wouldn't be a nay-sayer to be found against waging a special military operation in Mexico - ESPECIALLY if they had sent actual nazis to murder ethnic Americans (google Azov Battalions). The ethnic Russian Oblasts refused to recognize the coup government requiring them to lose their ethnic identities. And so Zelenskyy sent in the Azov Battalions to subdue them through murder and mayhem. Yes, an actual jew sent Orthodox Christian, professing nazis to murder fellow Orthodox Christians, and so fresh were the hatreds against their former overlords that the Ethno-centric, actual, professing nazis of the Azov Battalions jubilantly obeyed this supremely ironic command. 

The former Russian oblasts - now Ukrainian - went to Moscow begging help. Help did not come. Russia tried mightily to work a diplomatic solution, and after three years of frustration it piled up an invasion force for months and months in order to push Ukraine to the negotating table. And it worked. A deal very favorable to Kiev was hammered out in Istanbul and was literally waiting on signatures when Boris Johnson flew to Kyiv and convinced Zelenskyy not to sign, promising to help Ukraine defeat Russia through NATO arms and brutal sanctions. 

Western Europe is economically **** for generations. The sanctions hurt them far more than they hurt Russia.  But the European leader have built and bet their careers on Russophobia, and the last thing they want is for the war to end. It was France and Germany that guaranteed the Minsk Accords, and the former PMs of both nations have now admitted they were duplicitous with the Russians in order to buy time for the armament of Coupkraine. They never intended to keeptheirword. Trump pretends that he wants peace, but that peace will cost American oil companies billions. And so the Coupkrainians must continue to die.

And one of the supreme ironies of this war is that the nation which wanted an ethno-state has been bled so dry by war casualties and mass emigration that no matter when or how this war ends, there's just not gonna be much ethno- in that **** ethno-state. It was a kleptocracy teetering on failed-state status BEFORE the coup. It's so **** now that its short and ugly history makes that of Poland appear glorious and dynastic.
