I've read quite a few articles on those mini-retirement vacations. They are usually well planned for. Forced into one is different. Only you know  your situation. Personally, I'd take the first job that comes along and continue searching for something better. It not easy to replace that nest egg once you blow through it.

I've been meaning to ask, provolone or cheese whiz on your Philadelphia Cheese Steak?

Trump is bringing INDUSTRY BACK to America... FROM ALL OVER the WORLD !  The problem NOW is that most of that new industry is STILL in the process of BUILDING NEW, and STATE OF THE ART plants... HERE in America!  I KNOW "Construction" is not an occupation for OLDER Americans...  but, NEW and BETTER jobs ARE coming !!

The destruction of American industry, GOES ALL the way back to the 1970's...AND, it was NOT Trumps fault... as a matter of FACT it was Democrat Presidents... like Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden who did more to DESTROY our industry than ANYONE... and Presidents like Reagan and Trump... did more than ANYONE to bring America BACK... AND, to be honest... RINO Republicans like the Bushes (George HW, and "W") were, like Democrats, *INCOMPETENT...

My politics caused friction..   I am the "I told you so" guy there.  I am pretty sure that may have been a reason.  There are other factors I can improve on.  I always end up building a new fire department instead of just dowsing the fire, trying to create better ways of doing things.  People do not like people that use their brains to try and help understanding.  I left a legacy that may infiltrate into the arena, I was assigned supplying documents never created by a very controls spec heavy customer.  I had nothing to go by and i guess I wasn't fast enough at  it. I was very green in Industrial Controls. We were very close to automating the BOMs for the electrical builds.

Tariifs caused huge uncertainity (Trump).  High interest rates slowed the market (Biden)..   We were locked in on a compressor that made the company a ton of money  for 50 years..   I was digging up data for customers for 30 year old systems. The legacy is out there.  Corporate decided to abandon that manufacturer, pursuing their own internal Mexican fabricated compressors.

There are many moving parts... You  only know one..   Trump's Dick..

We are getting swamped with transplants for the DC/Balt Corridor over here..  They all want super high end shyt. The county is  a house on fire of real estate growth... The region is. I am extremely grateful he has a path in a career.

I do  consider landscape lighting as a self employment opportunity..   I am even trying to make LED Chrotmas light fixtures out of UL approved Beer Cans.
