Get a full page from a newspaper. (This is a full page):

Spread it out on a surface and move one diagonal corner over to meet another diagonal corner and tape them together. Repeat for the other two diagonal corners. You should have something that vaguely resembles a pyramid. Turn it so that the taped area is down. Set it on the ground and as fast as you can use a lighter and light all four corners. Let it burn. When it has burned up the burnt pyramid will rise into the air and float away. No fire hazard since it's all one big ash. Kids get a kick out of it.
