I’ve never received grief for denying a jab…DeezerShoove » 14 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I went in for a physical recently and my doctor wanted to update my vaccinations.
DPT has been a staple for all of my life and that was due so I got the booster.
This is the same doctor that pushed hard for me to get "booster shots" for COVID.
She asked yet again this time if I wanted that. "Of course not", said I.
She said COVID's weaker (still deadly) but health-compromised people should still get it. I told her she just reported I'm in pretty good health so why bother trying to get me to take the jab?
That became a rhetorical question... no answer.
She's weakening her stance at least.
Only took 5+ years...
Anybody else out there with a recent update or COVID-shaming event, pro or con? Pretty quiet out there...
btw @Cannonpointer I'm still not dead.![]()
btw2 But I guess I AM dying... just like everybody else.

"Try to get past your passionate ignorance and learn to accept what actually happened." ~ brown's unheeded words of wisdom Bro in Law is not going to make it. The treatment got rid of the cancer, but the cure appears to be terminal. At this point I am contemplating his vaccination record may be involved in this outcome. Something has been diagnosed amiss in his liver this morning. Thought and Prayers are welcome. I Only hope for his comfort on the big picture journey. He is in the ER and resting comfortably. We go to the rehab this PM.DeezerShoove » 24 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I went in for a physical recently and my doctor wanted to update my vaccinations.

my past doctor, who’s retired, would always smile and say “you know I have to ask…would you like…(let the litany begin)?”
and he was as dry as they came…I believe I got him to chuckle twice in 30 years…

People who’d contracted Covid faced a statistically higher risk of cognitive impairment—and, in older age groups, dementia-level decline—compared with those in matched control groups, even months or years after infection. The evidence was indirect, drawn from cognitive testing, health records and symptom surveys. But the pattern was consistent: The brain didn’t always bounce back.
The long-term effects were most pronounced in older adults and people who’d been seriously ill. After Covid, many faced new memory problems and a loss of independence, particularly those who were in nursing homes. Blood tests in older patients also began turning up proteins linked to Alzheimer’s disease, raising fears that Covid could speed up neurological conditions the health-care system is already struggling to manage..."

That's how my doctor handles it. No pushing or speeches.ROG62 » Today, 9:41 am » wrote: ↑ I’ve never received grief for denying a jab…

He said it was a little earlier than he planned but he didn't want the wave of **** he anticipated coming.
So much for "keeping my same doctor" Bammy.
Now I have a 30-something woman... She's ok, I guess.
But it's not easy pushing me around so she had to get to know me. Friction was minimal but it was there.
I'm bluntly honest with her so she said something I could see some people taking the wrong way:
"I'm not trying to make you live longer. I just want your quality of life to be a good as possible."
That was a credo I can get behind. We both agreed with a smile on that.
After my numerous jokes about speeding buses and freeway abutments she finally realizes my viewpoint.
Make it quick and painless. My ashes won't show how crushed I was...

"Try to get past your passionate ignorance and learn to accept what actually happened." ~ brown's unheeded words of wisdom I am quite happy that you are not dead. Finding another equally unqualified moderator would take actual work. Putting up the spin board, finding the damned darts, crossing out the names of all the people we've lost due to bullying and replacing them with the soks of those same people - just a **** of a lot of work.DeezerShoove » Today, 9:31 am » wrote: ↑ I went in for a physical recently and my doctor wanted to update my vaccinations.
