The US provides approximately $570 million to $685 million annually directly to NATO’s common-funded budgets (covering administrative, military, and infrastructure costs), representing about 16-22% of that specific budget. However, the US total defense expenditure related to NATO commitments is closer to $900+ billion, representing roughly 62% of all NATO members' combined defense spending

That's right! Time for the rest of NATO to pony up!

Oh, they are not. No more than the USA is obliged to protect those countries who don't provide their own "ship protection" in the Strait of Hormuz. They have been called out by TRUMP, and they can deal with it.

Iran says that foreign governments or intelligence services could deploy drones that look like Iranian models, then blame Tehran for the attack. This is part of a broader narrative Iran is pushing as drone warfare becomes more widespread in the region. The claim appears in coverage of Iran’s expanding drone and cyber operations, where Iranian officials argue that:

It would be very interesting to see this happen.... Image I meanI am A ok with this not ending well for Iran....

The organization serves as a system of collective security, whereby its independent member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any outside party. This is enshrined in Article 5 of the treaty, which states that an armed attack against one member shall be considered an attack against them all.

LOL: Did NATO ask Trump to help Ukraine?

✅ Yes. NATO explicitly sought Trump’s support. According to NATO’s official statement:
  • NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met President Trump on July 14, 2025, at the White House.
  • The purpose was to advance efforts to support Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression.
  • Rutte publicly praised Trump’s “pivotal decision” to ensure Ukraine receives essential military resources.
  • NATO emphasized that the U.S. role is central, with Europe and Canada coordinating funding and production.
This is the strongest possible confirmation that NATO leadership directly sought Trump’s involvement.

Gee, you think maybe it's because over 20% of the oil shipped by Middle East nations goes to Europe, dickhead?

Yes....a good deal of it...

But Russia is Russia and Europe is Europe.

The attack on Ukraine is considered a threat to NATO allies proximate to it.

I have a question for you. Pretend you are Germany. You just **** outof your cheap oil by the war in Ukraine that the US started by pulling a coup in Ukraine and harrassing Russia with western offensive weapons on its border.

Then Trump **** around in Iran, cause the straight of hormuz to close. And now,m you have 20% of the world's oil stranded off the coast of europe - the perfect conditions for afiresale on cheap energy.

How likely would YOU be to help "fix" this "problem"?

I think that I would see it as a godsend.

RSVP.

Is the straight of hormuz in the north atlantic?

Why should they want to fix a "problem" that they did not create, and that strands 20% of the world's petroleum off their coast, right when they have a problem getting cheap energy? What would their MOTIVE be?
