Hospices are a huge scam. I worked in one.  Doctors will come up with the dumbest reasons to keep people on, though they were not terminal. It's not hard to fudge or exaggerate medical records or notes. Documentation from the doctors and staff is the only thing that Medicare and other official watchdogs look at. They come in about once a year to do an audit. If the paperwork is clean, then they are on their way.
