Was this the plan they have had all along? The whole **** regime is gone. A country that was more powerful than Ukraine, has been totally destroyed by TRUMP. Putin will never be the Commander-In-Chief that TRUMP is. I mean, he's been at it for over 4 **** years now. What a ******. The third generation regime may be alive or not.....hiding in a hole in the ground isn't any way to live. Trump will eventually starve them out, if Americans will act like it's in our best interest, the Mullahs will become as extinct as a dinasour.Vegas » 06 May 2026, 9:53 am » wrote: ↑

Their regime is not gone. Where are you getting that from? If it was, then who exactly is Trump making a deal with to get the striate open?MR-7 » 06 May 2026, 1:33 pm » wrote: ↑ Was this the plan they have had all along? The whole **** regime is gone. Would you trust them?Vegas » 06 May 2026, 1:42 pm » wrote: ↑ They are alive. Trump is trying to make a deal with them. I doubt he would be talking to dead people.
No. I don't.But the point of the OP is that they have more leverage than we do, despite our military prowess.
The only leverage they have are liberal Democrats who actually hope we lose.Vegas » 06 May 2026, 1:45 pm » wrote: ↑ No. I don't.But the point of the OP is that they have more leverage than we do, despite our military prowess.
Yes, that was a major part of it. I served in the 80s and 90s. While the Soviets had more men and equipment we had better morale and much better equipment. The country also had the will to find a war the way is should be. Not this surgical ****. We don't have the will to do this with Iran so we had better just end it.Vegas » 06 May 2026, 9:53 am » wrote: ↑ During the cold war, "Guns vs Butter" meant a country has limited resources, so it must choose how much to spend on military power versus civilian well-being:.
Guns = weapons, armies, missiles, tanks, defense spending.
Butter = food, housing, consumer goods, healthcare, schools, ordinary living standards. In Cold War terms, the idea was:T
The more the Soviet Union tried to match the United States militarily, the fewer resources it had left for its people. They eventually couldn't keep up.
The war with Iran is similar. It's not an exact comparison, but it is similar. We have the guns. We definitely outgun Iran, but the butter for Americans is spread thin. Iran's Straite of Hormuz is their gun. Gas and food prices are our butter. How long can the well-beings of Americans last under these conditions? It's not costing Iran much. Also, they don't even care about the well-being of their people. They slaughtered 40k of their own civilians during the protest. The regime rapes women and 12 yr old girls like it's their favorite past time. So civilian well-being is not a priority for them.
@MR-7 We outgun Iran, yet the regime is still alive and well. Guns vs Butter is how they will last.
