CBS touts $55M gain after Colbert exit despite ratings drop
I never watched colbert. I just couldn't get past that **** 1/2 an ear ****.

Colbert’s ear is the only thing that’s actually funny — and it doesn’t even talk.MR-7 » 8 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I never watched colbert. I just couldn't get past that **** 1/2 an ear ****.

How would you know if you never watch him?MR-7 » 4 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Colbert’s ear is the only thing that’s actually funny — and it doesn’t even talk.
From all the images of his 1/2 ear. No one has to watch or see the show to know that the ear is what's funny.Blackvegetable » 7 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ How would you know if you never watch him?
You're kind of an idiot..

“CBS asserted”?Blackvegetable » Yesterday, 7:36 am » wrote: ↑ It would begin with you demonstrating that CBS was losing 40 million per year.
Everyone knows that CBS has asserted it...
But no one has seen the evidence.

But the show is also much cheaper to produce. CBS went from losing 40 mil in the slot to making 15.
Clobert was funny before he sold his soul - so was jon stewart. It was a painful and cringy thing to watch two fine talents become sold out hacks.
And the comedy gods do not forgive. Neither man can get his mojo back EVER without a character-driven mea culpa. And the character required for either to deliver that is almost certainly unavailable to a sold-out hack.
I mean, never say never. It would be grand to watch either of those **** redeem themselves through public admission of their many lies. But I don't think it's ever going to happen - which means neither boy will ever be funny again.

This model is projected to generate a $15 million profit, marking a $55 million swing in financial performance compared to Colbert's show.
- Rising Production Costs: The cost to produce the show was approximately $100 million per year.
- Declining Viewership: Despite being the number one rated show in its time slot, viewership for late-night television has been declining, particularly among younger audiences.
- Advertising Revenue: The overall advertising revenue for late-night shows has halved from $438 million in 2018 to significantly lower figures by 2023, impacting CBS's revenue from The Late Show.
