My company made all the refrigeration for Lineage.  I visited a new facility as training. Amazing technology.

Whoever designed the switch to the solar panels is in deep doo doo.

Everything inside the facility is frozen...  It's probably tens of tons of beef at -10F.....  Yeah, she is gonna burn a long time...  There is foam insulation on the pressure tanks. I am sure they blew the refigerant out already..  There is CO2 and Ammonia.. it's a cascade system.   The  ammonia is defininitey an explosion hazard.

Engineering is as Engineering Does.   PV Panels suck.  Use solar heat to move supercritical refigerants through a turbine, run the facility, and charge the back up. And hell, she'll probably sell excess power. I saw a video about how to store electricy cheap by desalinizing sea water..  The claim is ten cents a kw/hr..  They called is a salt water battery..   Fascinating tech if it is real...  Pundit said TRL was about a Five.. out of 10...

Neccesity is the Mother...  I hope we got people who can design and build stuff fast.  America has been slip sliding away on that track for a long time. First thing first.. Boyle Heights...

So much for “green energy”…probably swallowell’s Chinese spies had them made to spontaneously combust…there goes the beef prices!

I reached out to some colleagues.   I know the guys that designed and built tthe refrigeration system..  I am willing to bet the number one guy is actually there on the scene by now....

It's complicated..  There are tanks of water to blow the ammonia through but man, if a vessel is still charged it's a mushroom cloud waiting to happen. Hopefully safety reliefs do their job. There are always two of them in line just in case.

An ungodly amount of food will spoil.  The neighborhood will smell bad  soon. They are trying to save a portion of the building.
