European countries are not anything you want to mimic politically. You are taxed up the *** while essentially living on top of one another. You get your "free" healthcare, a small townhouse sorta thing and that's it. They talk mad **** about America but some of the biggest atrocities to ever happened stemmed from over there. Responsible for 2 World Wars, etc... You have to be out of your mind to think that Europe in general is better than the US is.

#1 killer is heat.. More than all other natural disasters combined.  France had like 40 dead in the water last week..  We are heading to triple digit this week..

There is tech..  The oilgharcs would rather burn baby burn rather than any sustainable solutions.

Salt based Phase Change Materials are cool as hell... If you bury it in 55 Deg Earth it will freeze.  If cooling blankets wer made with it it coould save millions of people.. It takes energy to unfreeze a substance.  I think about loops in the dirt and liquid goes under and a slushy comes up..   Blow a fan over an exchanger in your room and wala!
