What exactly is "poetic justice" about an inferior US team (have never been great) losing to a European team? You act as if the US was favored to win or advance or something. I don't get it. Explain your mental gymnastics.

He didn’t have anything to do with it. He just asked for clarification. The referee **** up using slo-mo VIR…FIFA explicitly has a rule to only use it in real time, hence being overturned…
