In a statement, the network said: “Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with Fox News Media.” It did not specify a reason for the abrupt departure.

In August, days before Bartiromo’s final appearance on her show, Trump praised her interview with Wirth.

Fox News issued a terse statement Thursday saying she is no longer employed at its networks, effective immediately. She had not appeared on any Fox News Media programs since Aug. 9.
