The way I see it the "cult" moniker is basically a smear from the outside of Trump supporters.
Almost everything the liberals/lefties do drives them away so they "see cult" everywhere.
"Your" numbers are a decades-old cult and kinda dwindling...

It's probably more just a general stabilization of the public's fatigue with the polarization.
The polarization of the population is driven largely by a really **** up media.
People don't trust the media much anymore so its power to drag everyone around by the nose is weak.
They MUST make Trump the BoogeyMan for the dwindling masses to unite behind a "common enemy".
