Farm Bill Deadlocks: Senate Democrats on the Senate Agriculture Committee opposed and blocked a Republican-led Farm Bill proposal over disagreements regarding changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), including proposed state-level cost-sharing mandates and work requirements, rather than direct opposition to farmer support. Democratic lawmakers and groups like the League of Conservation Voters argued the bill also included cuts to conservation and sustainability programs.

Ahead of the November 3, 2026, midterm elections, traditional support for Donald Trump and the Republican party among American farmers is facing significant strain due to severe economic pressures. While rural voters historically backed Trump by wide margins in his presidential campaigns, ongoing financial hardships have left many questioning their loyalty, resulting in a divided agricultural electorate where some are sticking with the GOP while others are splitting their tickets or turning to Democrats

SNAP!

Beeslicker doesn't  realize how much market farmers have lost.

We do get farm news here on the radio.. China bought more soybeans in September  than in three years prior..

We have inflated our value to worthlessness.. The soybean sales probably don't  get them to break even..  Many fields  are still standing.. Not only weather, now they have to calculate  diesel into the operation..

It looks like we are stuck with trump////////.Hostility toward identity politics—nurtured by Steve Bannon and others—helped propel the rise of Donald Trump. But that feeling is not only to be found on the right. The Columbia professor Mark Lilla, a Democrat and a self-described liberal, says very much the same thing: that vocal opposition to racism, and support for gay and transgender rights, have been costing Democrats election after election all over America.////--- .” no change this election.
