Gregg Abbott.  The governor of Tejas.  The guy that just ok'd no masks in Tejas.  He's no doctor.

He got crushed by a falling oak tree whilst jogging. This type of karma doesn't just fall out of the sky.  It's divine intervention.

And then you have Madison (girl's name) Cawthorn.  The guy that lied about why he didn't attend the Naval Academy.

Have you seen the story about "fun rides" with Madison?

Image

I'm getting tired of Gophers playing on people's sympathy for the physically and mentally disabled.
He also claimed that his friend ran away and left him to die in a burning car, after the car accident.  He said that the guy ran into forest, and he courageously dragged himself to safety.  The "friend" said that he pulled him from wreck, and stayed with him until paramedics arrived.

According to a Washington Post report, while giving a speech at Patrick Henry College in 2017, Cawthorn lied multiple times about the 2014 car crash that left him reliant on a wheelchair. The Post says that Cawthorn claimed his friend who was driving the vehicle at the time, Bradley Ledford, had left him for dead.

“He was my brother, my best friend. And he leaves me in a car to die in a fiery tomb,” Cawthorn said of the accident. “He runs to safety deep in the woods and just leaves me in a burning car as the flames start to lick my legs and curl up and burn my left side.” Cawthorn also claimed he was pronounced dead at the scene, but thanks to “adrenaline or divine intervention, I definitely believe it’s the latter, I had a deep inhale of breath.”

The problem, of course, is that none of it was true. According to Ledford, he saved Cawthorn’s life. “That statement he made was false,Ledford told The Washington Post. “It hurt very badly that he would say something as false as that. That is not at all what happened. I pulled him out of the car the second that I was able to get out of the car.” And, according to a court deposition, Cawthorn claims he has no memory from the accident. And per a police accident report and Florida Highway Patrol records, Cawthorn was “incapacitated and in critical condition” but was not declared dead.

That answer will tell you which side is more susceptible to propaganda.
Trump partisans are completely emotionally unstable and cognitively challenged. Other conservatives are probably just as stable and intelligent as anybody else, however they have shown themselves to be completely lacking in integrity, so their instability is behavioral.

Americans who buy anything that was spewed out of the orange ****'s festering piehole over the past four years, and the four decades before that, are the ones who are susceptible to blatant propaganda.

So here we go DweebsterStooge...we have both stated our opinions. Ya think it's gonna change anything? The founder's greatest achievement was the establishment of the country on such ridiculous philosophies that the country was doomed to end up in the cultural war that will end it. It started with the country being founded with slavery remaining in place. Which generated the catastrophe that was the civil war. And in modern times, was kicked off by the Tonkin Gulf Resolution and the final splitting of the culture over the Vietnam war. The development of the gaping cultural chasm over the past four years was as predictable as rain over Puget Sound.

So white American christian conservatives are now all whining, pissing and moaning about their culture being cancelled and their beliefs and desires becoming dismissed.  Well guess what after almost 250 years of dominance of the culture by white christian convervatives...what goes around, comes around.

I haven't talked with a homeless person before, but...I had a random shower thought.

This is speculation - the homeless ppl who aren't in their current situation due to drug addiction/mental illness choose to be homeless.

Reasoning?

Well it's quite simple actually...they find employment to be below them. A waste of time.

And while the homeless, like any other group of people, would prefer to have a roof over their heads, the tradeoff isn't worth it to them.

Option A: Slave away 40+ hrs a week so the investors and owners get rich off the value of labor you provide, you get a mortgage and billz 2 pay

Option B: Stay homeless and, if the homeless person is smart, keep eyes peeled for opportunities

(Option C - unavailable to the homeless, and for that matter, 99%+ of people): Inherit property and live off dividends/rental income/bonds

Option C warrants additional scrutiny...

Assuming a 'safe' 4% withdrawal rate, $1M generates 40K (keep in mind this is pre-tax as dividends and rental income are treated as income) which is really nothing.

$40K is crumbs, fitting for a college grad who subsisted on rice and beans to help expedite loan repayments.

I'd say you need AT MINIMUM $100K/year in post-tax residual income requiring minimal work (like driving 30 miles every month to collect renters' dues) to live comfortably.

That requires more than $3M in investments, and pretty much anybody who has $3M in investments will have $5M or more in net worth due to diversification of assets. Nobody (who isn't a complete retard) will put 80% of net worth in the stock market.

Now I don't know about you, but I can't think of many jobs/employment that would allow you to accumulate $5M in net worth thru your working life.

Factor in taxes, ever increasing cost of living ("but muh 1.5% inflayshun!"), the potential to be laid off thus depriving you of income, "spending sprees," etc.

Maybe "reality TV host?"

Or "Reparations Department Head?" (In 2030 - job comes with full pension...those govt workers are so noble!)

If I had to choose between options A and B, I would go with B for sure. At least I would be exposed to opportunities that would allow me to escape A for the rest of life.

I don't feel any sympathy for the homeless - they seem to understand the situation with far greater clarity than the NPCs of society and are making a rational choice.

Like you said, we have a safety net in this country...you can consider the safety net inadequate but nevertheless, there must be some explanation for why these people do not want to get a job. I actually sided with them on this particular issue - if I had to choose between homelessness (living in my car or whatever) and becoming a debt slave, homelessness sounds like the better option.

Experienced and respected educators on either side of the political fence agree that some books are not age-appropriate for youngsters, yet are important enough to be available to students once they've reached a certain maturity.  A good example, I think, would be The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.  The book is controversial and has been since it was published some 140 years ago, partly because it features the "n-word" 200 times.  Students below a sixth-grade reading level probably won't get the underlying message of the book and might quote it, but students above a sixth-grade reading level would gain an important perspective on American life in the antebellum south.

Lord of the Flies is another book I would suggest is inappropriate for young children (it's pretty violent), but as a tool to teach symbolism in literature it is priceless to teachers in middle and high schools.

So, my belief (and I'm a liberal) is that restrictions may fairly be applied by school authorities and yes, parents, but I'd be opposed to outright bans.

However, I remember as a young man being very frustrated that I was only allowed to check out books far below my reading level.  My parents strongly encouraged reading and I was reading before I went to school.  By the time I was in fifth grade I was reading adult novels at home, mostly science fiction because that's what my father liked.  But my local public library had a policy and I remember being quite frustrated.  My personal experience leads me to think that schools and libraries should be flexible about which books to allow to which students; if a kid in fourth grade reads at a seventh grade level, let him borrow books at that level.

"CARRIZO SPRINGS, Texas — A former oilfield worker camp off a dirt road in rural Texas has become the U.S. government’s newest holding center for detaining migrant children after they leave Border Patrol stations, where complaints of overcrowding and filthy conditions have sparked a worldwide outcry.

Inside the wire fence that encircles the site are soccer fields, a giant air-conditioned tent that serves as a dining hall, and trailers set up for use as classrooms and as places where children can call their families.

The long trailers once used to house workers in two-bedroom suites have been converted into 12-person dorms, with two pairs of bunk beds in each bedroom and the living room."

Nothing To See Here: Biden Bans Reporters from Viewing His ‘Kids in Cages’
By Ulysses S. Tennyson | Mar 3, 2021

We recently reported on the fantastic non-transparency of the Biden administration.  It should come as no surprise, then, that immigration transparency would also decrease as millions of migrants threaten to flood the American border.

After 4 years of accusations against Donald Trump for his detention of illegal alien children in detention centers that were created under Barack Obama, Biden–using the same facilities–has now barred the press from viewing the ‘cages.”

Why?
“The Biden administration will ban reporters from touring juvenile detention facilities now accommodating unaccompanied minors who came across the United States-Mexico border seeking asylum.

“Reporters will not be allowed inside the Carrizo Springs facility for unaccompanied minors that was recently opened under the Trump administration in Texas, a Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) spokesperson” said in response to the Daily Caller’s request to tour the facility.”

The reason that they gave will come as no surprise.  It is the same reason Democrats have given for all of their tyranny and opacity since last spring:

“The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is not hosting media tours of unaccompanied children (UC) facilities currently due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the spokesperson told the media outlet.

Under President Trump, these facilities were often portrayed as “cages” that imprisoned children. Very often, however, pictures used by the mainstream media often dated to the Obama administration.

After Joe Biden loosened restrictions on the United States-Mexico border, a flood of asylum seekers responded by coming in droves, hoping to take advantage of the Democrat Party’s more lenient immigration policies.

The Washington Post reported that the former Trump “cage” facilities are being “reactivated” to hold up to 700 children ages 13 to 17.”

Biden Admin Will Not Allow Reporters To Tour Child Migrant Detention Facilities, Cite COVID-19By  Emily Zanotti   Mar 2, 2021   DailyWire.com

The Biden administration will not allow reporters to tour juvenile detention facilities now housing unaccompanied minors who came across the United States-Mexico border seeking asylum.

“Reporters will not be allowed inside the Carrizo Springs facility for unaccompanied minors that was recently opened under the Biden administration in Texas, a Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) spokesperson” said in response to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request to tour the facility.
And I guess a dimwitted **** like you doesn't mind THIS either, do you?
Over 100 COVID-19 Positive Illegal Immigrants Released by Border Patrol in Texas
By  Human Events Staff  March 3, 2021

There are two main things that team-left is worried about: contracting the coronavirus and finding an easy path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

So, what would their reaction be if illegal immigrants were the ones spreading the virus to American citizens?

Unfortunately for them, it’s happening right now.

More than 100 illegal immigrants released into Texas by Biden’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection tested positive for COVID-19, the Epoch Times reports.

Felipe Romero, a spokesperson for Brownsville, Texas, said that 108 migrants tested positive for the virus since January 5, when rapid testing began. That represents about 6.3 percent of the total undocumented individuals who were rapid-tested at the bus station.

He added that the city has no authority to prohibit COVID-positive migrants from traveling anywhere else in the United States.
Such wisdom, while LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS can get arrested and tasered for not wearing a mask, Biden border patrol waived in OVER ONE HUNDRED INFECTED ILLEGALS WITH NO PROBLEM!
Texas Cop Threatens To Taser Man For Not Wearing A Maskby ImageA.M. Smith
— Nicholas Connolly (@MrNickConnolly) January 25, 2021

The cop then tells the man to leave the store, adding, “Don’t argue with me, it’s real simple.”The man, who noted that the officer’s mask had slipped down, is carrying a gun as is his right under Texas law.

The clip shows the officer entering the store and immediately barking at the man, “Where’s your mask at?”

“What mask?” he responds.

“The mask that you’re required to wear by city ordinance,” responds the officer.

The cop then tells the man to leave the store, adding, “Don’t argue with me, it’s real simple.”

.”The man, who noted that the officer’s mask had slipped down, is carrying a gun as is his right under Texas law.

As the man follows the order and leaves the store, the cop then draws his weapon and says, “I will tase you right now!”

Despite the fact that the man has left the store and is no longer required to wear a mask, he is detained anyway and told to put his hands up.

“Get your hand up now!” shouts the officer as he calls for backup. “Dude, you’re just dumb, you should be listening!” he adds.

“You move again, I’m gonna drop you!” says the cop despite the fact that the man is complying.

“It was simple, all you had to do was step outside and put a mask on,” says the officer as he disarms the man’s gun before claiming the man is “uncooperative” despite the fact that he is stood with his hands on his head.

The video ends with the cop pointing the taser at the man.

Some respondents to the video said the man should have complied, but others asserted that the officer took it too far.

“Talk about over reaction by an officer! I’m always for the police but this is ridiculous,” said one.

“But they cannot control the people burning down their cities? Our world is upside down!!” added another.

“Joe Biden’s America right here,” remarked another.

So how can even the dumbest liberal justify what determined to be fine for infected illegals BREAKING THE LAW BY ILLEGALLY ENTERING THE COUNTRY, and a man who is bothering no one and NOT infected is arrested and threatened to be tasered WHILE OUTSIDE, WHERE A MASK IS NOT REQUIRED?
THAT is the kind of stupidity that ignorant dopes like YOU voted for!

It definitely is.  However, I see it this way:  If Dems kill the filibuster and push through legislation that 83 million Biden voters want, then we will be in good shape to keep both houses in 2022.

If there's nothing but a long string of "didn't get it done because we didn't have 60 votes" scenarios, we WILL lose in 2022.  No doubt about it.   Jmo...

I thought what Obama did in his first term will get us where we need to be and stable for the future. I fear if we go back down these rabbit holes of disaster anymore times were done I fear this gonna be our last reprieve.

I think that is because there is a never ending cycle of Republicans spending money that they do not have or will ever have.

It started with the introduction of Reaganomics and everyone's favorite Trickle Down Economics, that if you cut regulation and blah blah it is suppose to trickle down instead the wealth has became so egregiously held at the top there is not enough money to go around and the tax burden falls on the middle class while Republicans continue to spend more and more money without taking enough in, goes right back around to the failure of Reaganomics.

I still think to this day one of Obama's biggest failures was not ending the Bush Tax Cuts.

We have to get ourselves out of the Republican Rabbit hole so that when Democrats regain control of the presidency we don't have to spend obscene amounts of money to get our country rolling again.

Oh and just remember to tell your Constitutional and "Fiscal Conservative" friends and family that the last president to have a Budget Surplus was a Democrat not a Republican.

It's almost like Democrats actually want to have success instead of failure after failure like the Republicans.

Typically, cuts in federal spending lead to increases in state taxes.  President Biden has not cut federal spending; in fact, he has been spending like a Republican so far.  I've been watching government a long time, and here's the deal: both parties spend like crazy.  Democrats increase taxes (usually on top earners and corporations), Republicans decrease taxes (again, usually mostly in favor of top earners and corporations), but both sides spend.  Debt increases when Democrats are in power, debt increases astronomically when Republicans are in power.  Debt always increases.

I suspect dictionaries are bad because socialism should be defined by conservatives, who also insist on defining liberalism and civil rights and pretty much everything else they don't like.

That's a trend in America these days which really, really bothers me.  I have this crazy idea that liberals and other folks on the left should be allowed to define themselves, and conservatives and other folks on the right should similarly define themselves.  Instead people in each respective tribe define the opposing tribe, and they do so using the most extreme examples available.  It's counterproductive and frustrating.

Dr. Deborah Birx, who stood there in one press conference after another, listening to the lies spewed by Trump, like a **** bobblehead, has finally come out and said that the first 100,000 deaths were inevitable, but everything after that could have been avoided.  She stood there and watched it happening without saying a **** word.  And why now?  Because Deborah Birx is looking down the barrel of the death of her cushy political career.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zck0PVn6tPY

The only thing on Trump's mind was how this pandemic was a threat to his re-election and he didn't think twice about spewing lies and disinformation and denialism and malfeasance, that he hoped would turn the political tide in his favor...at a cost of, by Birx's estimate, over 400,000 lives that could have been saved.

Thank-you Olivia Troye for making it all clear, once and for all.  And any investigation should be a criminal investigation.
