They are also using the justice system to attempt to circumvent democracy concerning their political rivals.

I have never considered this perspective and it makes sense. 

The roman empire never really fell. The city did, but not the empire. It just became a church. The Vatican, with a stash of money below it. The Vatican arguably has the same magnitude of power that the Roman Empire had. Different kind of power, but the magnitude and influence on the world is the same. 

Britain's empire never fell. It just became a bank. America broke free, but they kept the money and still has influence on the world. 

We consider America an empire. We say that our empire will soon end. However, what if the American empire already ended and we didn't know it. It isn't an empire, it's now the central headquarters for corporations that are running the world.

Somewhere in America's vast wetlands, there's a one-legged duck with a broken wing who just heard about Presidentish Joe Biden and said, "At least I'm not that guy." Biden entered lame-duck status long before his sudden announcement on X Sunday afternoon — it [i]was[/i] his announcement, right? RIGHT? — and I can even pinpoint the exact date for you.

It was Oct. 28, 2021. That seems like a long time ago, doesn't it?

When the fate of Biden's 2021 infrastructure bill was in doubt, the alleged president went to Capitol Hill, where he spoke "disjointedly and failed to make a concrete ask of lawmakers, according to Democrats in the room."

“It was the first time I remember people pretty jarred by what they had seen,” recalled Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) to the [url=https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/joe-biden-age-condition-before-election-drop-out-c9fc46ef]Wall Street Journal[/url]. Phillips was so rattled that he was willing to make a futile run against Biden in the rigged primaries. 

That October meeting would be Biden's last with his fellow Democrats on Capitol Hill to discuss legislation. The White House couldn't risk a repeat performance. And yet passage of the so-called Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act three weeks later was hailed as a major achievement for Biden — which raises questions about Biden's legacy and how the media tallies victories.

Was the law constitutional? Was it just? Fiscally sound? They don't even ask whether the law achieved its goals. The only question that matters to the press is this: was the Strong Man able to enforce his will on Congress? That's no way to run a constitutional republic. 

Also left unsaid is just how hollow Biden's big legislative wins were. Ever since President Barack Obama's trillion-dollar stimulus in 2009, any semblance of fiscal sanity was defenestrated into a moat filled with laser sharks. Biden's legislative wins — his trifecta of the inflation-inducing American Rescue Plan Act, the Inflation Reduction Act that did not reduce inflation, and the Infrastructure and Jobs Act which resulted in little infrastructure or jobs — were all delivered in the same way. 
Biden was no legislative mastermind — the idea is laughable. His buddies on Capitol Hill larded up his bills with enough fat to bribe the votes they needed in Congress. Want to know how we got so much further into debt on Biden's watch with nothing to show for it and no end in sight? Now you know.

Biden hasn't had any big legislative wins like those since the GOP retook the House and the White House hasn't even tried.Here's the rest of Biden's presidential legacy, in no particular order:

[*]The attempted destruction of Title IX for education and women's sports.
[*]Failure to either deter Russia or to arm Ukraine quickly and completely.
[*]The abandonment of the Abraham Accords.
[*]Removing sanctions from Iran, giving them billions, and the resulting wars in Gaza, the Red Sea, and (soon) in Lebanon.
[*]Massive overregulation.
[*]Collusion with Big Tech to silence conservatives.
[*]His unofficial War on Parenting.
[*]A failed war on American oil production and LNG exports.
[*]And, needless to say, epic cheating — including via illegals — in the election he just excused himself from.

I'm exhausted, and the list isn't even complete. I could go on, but the only good news is that Biden won't.

Of course, Biden hardly did all of these things himself as he's become increasingly isolated since at least Oct. 28, 2021, from the decisions made and actions taken in his name.

But they were done in his name. And now you know Joe Biden's shameful presidential legacy.

Most distressing, however, is the nature of the announcement: a post on X from an account widely known to not actually be controlled by the principal. The principal himself, the actual president of the United States, is nowhere to be seen. There is no reason to disbelieve it at this point, and yet it has all the qualities of a National Salvation Committee announcement that the General Secretary has taken ill at his dacha. The state wishes him good health, and perhaps he will return someday. 

 Coup Accountability 

The Americans deserve better, but we do not escape the abyss of the dead collectivity to which propositionalism and its mechanisms have consigned us until we possess a nation that once again grasps its full capacities, and can act toward the nature of nations and peoples. Right now this means moving past this terminated presidency and refusing to accept the lulling falsehood of its endurance to January 2025. That does not just mean ending it — there are processes for that, although their prudence is debatable — it also means ending the power of those who executed this coup. That is no defense of the Biden regime, and still less the man himself, both meeting a richly deserved end on several fronts. One of the death knells of any free society is elite conspiratorialism — my sentiment here is profoundly affected by witnessing it time and again in my Latin American work — and I do not mean mere belief in conspiracies, but actual formulation and execution of them. The coup plotters are protecting themselves now with rapid closing of ranks, and by advancing the candidacy of the vice president, a classic product of propositionalism, a woman from nowhere in particular so unmoored from the grounding and inheritance of American life that she must lie about youthful commonplaces. 

 A regime opposition worth the name would focus on this with all the power and apparatus at its disposal. Legislative hearings, state attorneys-general inquiries, and ballot access are some of the tools at hand. This is, after all, a coup — and this is still America. The senator from Ohio agrees. If I had to play Devils Advocate that's exactly what I would argue - that "Capitalism" has been so successful that many people can AFFORD to be structurally unemployed and yet still not starve to death.         

I don't believe that capitalism is responsible for America's success. I believe that technology is. And I believe that technology flows from individual liberty, and from individualism itself, which is an inherited trait but also a learned cultural trait that we got from the savages who are our cultural forebears as much as are Europeans.

I believe that indoor plumbing is the single greatest achievement of humanity, bar none. The moon landing (if it happened) pales in comparison as regards VALUE. I believe that indoor plumbing has given us the leisure and the universal good health which are at the heart of the achievements in consumer wealth or whatever you want to measure America's prosperity by. And now capitalism is not just threatening that universal good health; it is actively murdering it with the assistance of the government gun which it has wrested from the control of citizens.

I Yuka-apped the wrapper of a convenience store hamburger recently, out of curiosity. I was flabbergasted. One of the ingredients - actually, the second listed - was "capsulated salt." I looked that up, and it's a sneaky legalism for hydrogenated oil. Hydrogenated oil digs the grooves in your arteries that homogenized dairy then clogs, necessitating a stent. The buns were made with a number of nasty things including fructose.

So, you have this wonderfully simple and intuitively trustworthy idea: a hamburger. And then you have this corporate sabotage. Capitalism has us paying it to poison us with things that will make us pay it forever, right up to our early graves.

It is often argued that capitalism has had a hand in our success as a nation. I strongly reject those arguments. I respect that there is evidence which some mistake as convincing. But that evidence is corollary in nature. The arguments for crediting capitalism are superstitious, linking things because they occur in the same time frame. And these ideas are installed in us by relentless propaganda and by collapsing the distinction free enterprise with the distinction capitalism. 

It is free enterprise that built the middle class, after FDR put a muzzle on that SAME rapacious capitalism that had brought the nation to the brink, through theft of public treasure, in the Great Depression. Mind you, capitalism was YOUNG when it caused all of that mayhem. It had only been deregulated for maybe 50 years when it nearly destroyed us. Before that, a mere municipality could take away a corporate charter, could outlaw the operation of any corporation that it chose to outlaw. Every corporation had an expiration date and a public good to cause within the timeframe granted it - just to GET a charter. And when FDR put a muzzle on the beast, America flourished. 

So, absolutely, no. I credit wall street capitalism only with destruction by rapacity - with parasitism. I credit free enterprise with 100% of America's success.

That is true.  He never went to the Sergeant Major Academy and the promotion he accepted required two more years of service.  He was demoted to E-8, Master Sergeant.

It's only a dirty lie of the other side does it. It's a "regrettable misstatement" when his side does it.

In case you wondered what is the definition of "partisan hack," this issue has just shown you its very embodiment in the person of maineman, who rose to the challenge of sinking to the level. 

As old chunk used to say, eventually the true person shows through in an NHB environment. It just brings it out, because the light moderation does not get in its way. On other boards, there is procedural **** that allows people to hide their true selves. But on this board, their true selves are exposed. 

Guys like @Blackvegetable  and maineman can snipe from the sidelines effectively on other boards. Here, they get outed over time. Because people CAN pursue them with their words and they cannot hide behind mods, complaining they're being stalked. They have to stand and deliver, or run and hide. Millions of voters still believe the 2020 election was, at the very least, suspicious. The government made sure that election deniers were tagged as insurrectionists, traitors, and conspiracy nuts. Every Trump rally was filled to capacity with tens of thousands of supporters, while Biden's rallies drew less than 100 people. Biden rarely held a rally.The mainstream media, which lost its curiosity many years ago, was hard at work, giving Trump negative coverage 94% of the time. It is miraculous that Trump was able to accomplish what he did in such an environment.The Democrat Party, their deep state, and the globalist oligarchs were in a panic. They already lost several years of 'remaking America' with Hillary Clinton's loss three years earlier. To the Left, Trump had to be stopped.Then COVID-19 hit. A disease not unlike the flu that came out of nowhere. Early on, it was established that COVID came from China. President Trump immediately ordered a travel ban to and from China, causing the Democrats to waste no time calling Trump a racist. The federal government, in cahoots with the medical establishment, made sure COVID became a dire medical emergency complete with lockdowns, stay-at-home orders, mask and vaccine mandates that they knew were worthless, and in many cases dangerous, but were a good optic. They essentially shut down our economy. Millions of people were now out of work.We found out that Fauci was working with the Chinese to develop the coronavirus. A question began to appear on the minds of many pundits but no one had the guts to ask. Did the Democrat Party conspire with China to release a pandemic to stop Trump?

Donald Trump continually portrays America as a dark, scary, fallen, no longer great nation.  Maybe I am living in some alternate universe bubble like Jim Carrey in the Truman Show movie, but the America I live in has very low crime... the grocery store is filled with delicious and affordable products...  mortgage rates are a whole lot lower than when I was buying my first house.  I am not afraid to walk around my neighborhood at any hour of the day or night.  From my perspective, America is pretty joyful, light-filled, standing tall, and as great as ever.

So... tell me, Trumpers...  

1.  have any of you overdosed on Fentanyl that you bought from a sketchy-looking illegal immigrant?
2.  have any of you had gangs of illegal immigrants roaming the streets of your neighborhood?
3.  have any of you been raped by an illegal immigrant?
4.  have any of you had anyone in your family murdered by an illegal immigrant?
5.  have any of you gone hungry because you couldn't afford groceries?
6.  have any of you had to leave the car in the garage and walk to your destination because you couldn't afford gasoline?
7.  have any of you been assaulted in the ladies' room by a transsexual in a skirt?
8.  have any of you actually experienced this dreadful dystopia Trump describes firsthand?

Do tell.

So, your attitude is simply, "I got mine, and everybody else in the country can just go **** themselves", huh?
That's the difference between you and I.  Even if I'm in the enviable position to be safe, secure, and wealthy in my home, I can recognize and have a great deal of sympathy for the tens of millions who aren't as fortunate as I am.  
Clearly, you couldn't give a flying **** about them as long as you got yours!

Do you deny that hundreds of thousands of American citizens have died from fentanyl brought in across our open border by illegals?
Do you deny that there have been dozens of rapes and murders committed by illegals that came in through Czar Kamala's open border?
Do you believe it's a lie that tens of millions of Americans are having trouble paying for the huge hike in gas and food prices?
Do you figure every other neighborhood in the country is as safe as yours?
Are you unaware of the number of children who have been raped in schools and public restrooms allowing men to use girl's restrooms?
Why must we experience this dystopia before we can recognize it happening in our home country and be permitted to comment on the failure of the government YOU stuck us with that caused it and eagerly hope to do so yet again or should we make every effort to stop it and reverse the path to hell your idiots have put us on??

They will find themselves forever on one or the other margin. And they will never be happy, so long as they have that mindset. That is my opinion in the matter.

I worked for a fellow some 30 years back, and he was one hard working son of a bitch. He was not nearly as smart as I am. But he more than compensated by how diligent he was, whereas I was more of a flighty fellow - insouciant. Dabble here, raise rabble there - to one thing constant never.

Anyway, he shared his goal with me. He wanted to have a million dollars worth of equity in commercial property, and then he would retire and live the good life. I decided to make it my mission to help him realize his dream, as he had always been square with me, and I loved him as a brother. And I did. And all the things that he had told me he wanted to do - WOULD do - once he had reached his goal? He put them all on hold, because he set a new goal. A million was not enough. I asked him what WOULD be enough, and his face was pained when he told me, "I don't know."

Several years back, I sat with him. We met up in Mexico, down in Baja. And I went over with him what he had told me, and I asked him what was his new goal. And he sat there - we were drinking and playing with magic powders, but only as tourists and not as degenerates or anything - and he got it. He literally got it. And he made a radical change. He chose to be content. He was not at a level to excite envy or invite robbery. He was just living a nice, upper middle class existence, taking in perhaps 200k per year. And he just stopped being acquisitive.

Whereas he had been doing all of his own work on his properties, jealous of any penny he might have to pay a tradesman, he made the decision to never step on another ladder and never tar another roof and never lift another paint brush or frame-out another interior to suit a new tenant. He chose to pay others for that work. He chose to be content. 

When I was down in Brazil in early Summer, I invited him to come on down and spend a few weeks with me. He came for ten days, and we relaxed and drank a few beers and saw some sights. I have never seen him so light on his feet, so **** carefree. I was delighted for him. I AM delighted for him. I still smile each time I think of him - each time I picture him at last at home with himself and happy with his lot. 

The same advice that I gave to him, I would give to you. The middle ground is the easiest to hold, and is marked by the least care. Poverty and immense wealth are flip sides of the same coin. One has plusher pillows than the other, but both are hard roads,

The business our parasite government is about is the business of dissolving the USA. We are literally witnessing this country's dissolution. The purpose for the removal of our border is hardly mysterious. The purpose of running up the credit card beyond reason is hardly mysterious. The purpose of the assault on the family is hardly mysterious. 

I cannot pretend to understand "their" endgame - exactly what THEY SEE as their "victory conditions." I cannot see how destroying the United States gives "them" anything of value. But I CAN see and DO see that they are deliberately destroying the country. A nation without a border is a creature without skin. Neither functions for long.

My theory may have some validity yet. I am with you in that I can see no apparent value in destroying a country in this manner. It can't be simple grudge or jealousy. Such a disparate "team" getting together for a principle-of-the-thing is quite a stretch.
They're all greedy, selfish ****, after all.

I think it's more Serengeti... A big beast shows weakness while wandering around laden with meat.
Weakened, but not without some clout still, strong beasts let the big beast tire while searching for fuel.
Parasites, hyenas, etc, are doing the work to make for an easy kill soon.

Moral:
There is no real plan. Just opportunists.
Background grudges or jealousy may be in the mix but those aren't the drivers.
