I'll go back the kit car comparison.  In the 70s you could buy a kit to build a car that looked like a Europea sports car.  LOOKED LIKE being the key word.  You got the body kit and then hung the body on a volkswagen chasis with the VW engine and drive train.  IT LOOKED like a sports car but did not FUNCTION like a sports car.

These weapons the same.  They look like a military weapon BUT DO NOT FUNCTION like a military weapon.

I don't know why he bought that non military semi automatic sports weapon that was specifically designed for civilian use.  Do you?  Again, please tell us why you would ban that weapon.  It wasn't a Colt Sporter from 1964 although that was designed for civilians.

No questions until you explain why you want to ban them.  Modern day military automatics are banned.  Those manufactured prior to 86 can be purchased with tens of thousands of dollars and a 6 month to a year anal probe background check.  The weapons displayed on this thread do not come from that group.

No, not modified.  Differfent lowers, bolt assemblies, etc.  That is not modified.  Modified would be what was done to the M 16 or AK 47s way back in the day.  The weapon you are discussing was specifically designed for the civilian market.

I have presented an informed, on the mark case.  You have never fired, held, repaired, or field stipped one either of those weapons.  You can not verbalized why you want a weapon banned.

Here is a Ruger AR556 AR 15 Semi Auto Rifle.It is not modified, it is not designed for the battlefield, because rugar does not have a military version of it..

This is a Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 Sport 22LR Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle

This is not a modified weapon.  It was not designed for the battlefield.  It was specifically designed for civilian use.  It is .22.  Do you know of S&W weapon that fires a 22 and was designed for the battlefield?
