The item is designed to perform a specified function.
Unless you put 4 tines at the end of an AR15 and twist spaghetti around it, its function remains directly related to its design.
So your "function" diversion is twaddle...
It is modified not to CHANGE function, but to limit its full designed functionality.
I've never put anyone on Ignore..
Nope. Not a fan.Jantje_Smit » 16 Oct 2020, 10:29 am » wrote: ↑ You're not a fan of the proud boys?... I thought you were a deplorable wannabe..

I just don't see the point of poking some ****** who turtles right up.
So the designers were tasked with designing "Safe, Semi, and Auto", or a weapon which could reasonably reliably knock down the enemy at a distance of up to 750 yds?Huey » 16 Oct 2020, 10:29 am » wrote: ↑ The M16 was designed to have the following functions:

The AR 15 SPORTER was designed to have ONE function:
Semi Auto.
What else ya got?
The effective range of an AR 15 is 400-600 meters which is about 650 yards on the high end. Many weapons can do that. Plus, that is a function of the ammo as well . A weapon like my Henry 45 could, in the right hands, do this:Blackvegetable » 16 Oct 2020, 10:33 am » wrote: ↑ So the designers were tasked with designing "Safe, Semi, and Auto", or a weapon which could reasonably reliably knock down the enemy at a distance of up to 750 yds?

Even today, many shooters like to compete with the .45/70 in long-range blackpowder events, taking on targets 1,000 yards or more distant, despite the round’s rainbow trajectory.
What else you got?

Designers are given specification based on function, not features.

No...that's a "feature", its function remains what the weapon was designed for..Huey » 16 Oct 2020, 10:53 am » wrote: ↑ Yes, to take the M16, completely redesign the function so it could only fire automatic. You saw what had to be redesigned, correct?
So are you now reframing to "distance"?
Post the citation to post ratio so we have reason to believe you, apath.Vegas » 16 Oct 2020, 10:57 am » wrote: ↑ Huey is giving facts and valid info, Veghead is doing what Veghead does...evading and **** around.
