[8]Colt continued to use the AR-15 trademark for its line of semi-automatic-only rifles marketed to civilian and law-enforcement customers, known as Colt AR-15.
More proof you do not read what is posted.

Let me dumb it down for you...
For the "Sporter" model featured in your photos, what percentage of the category (in terms of sales) does it represent?

Semi automatic beng the key word. Plus I have also posted the actual parts that had to be redesigned. You are losing. You know that right? But what you can do is articulate in plain english why you want semi automatic weapons banned.Blackvegetable » 16 Oct 2020, 12:57 pm » wrote: ↑ viewtopic.php?p=1076792
But let's not linger...
Due to financial problems, and limitations in terms of manpower and production capacity, ArmaLite sold the AR-15 design and the AR-15 trademark along with the ArmaLite AR-10 to Colt's Manufacturing Company in 1959.[3] Colt started selling the semi-automatic version of the M16 rifle as the Colt AR-15 in 1964.[4][5][6] The first mass production version was the Colt AR-15 Sporter,
There is the direct design lineage...
We're done here, Verbal.....again....

Not sure what that link is for......I have not posted a pic of the sporter on this thread.
I don't see how....citations continue to confirm that the AR15 was designed for the battle field....You are losing. You know that right?
I haven't said that I want "semi automatic weapons banned" I have explained why I want weapons DESIGNED for use in combat banned for civilian possession and sale...But what you can do is articulate in plain english why you want semi automatic weapons banned.
Did you click on it, ****?Not sure what that link is for......I have not posted a pic of the sporter on this thread.
Citations where you leave key elements such as the Armalite weapon was rebranded the M 16.Blackvegetable » 16 Oct 2020, 1:19 pm » wrote: ↑ I don't see how....citations continue to confirm that the AR15 was designed for the battle field....

Again, if it was designed for combat why was it not marketed military instead of the M 16?

Citations where you leave key elements such as the Armalite weapon was rebranded the M 16. The Colt At 15 sporter, as continuously posted was designed for civilians and cops. Today’s AR variants are simply semi auto sports weapons. And as you say should not be banned.
There is no sporter pic on this thread.
Irrelevant...and I don't....Citations where you leave key elements such as the Armalite weapon was rebranded the M 16.
No...not "designed for"....Military weapons may be, but not those designed for combat, as the AR15 and M16 INDISPUTABLY were...you cannot legally purchase the military VARIANTS, but you can buy the design...
Weapons designed for use in contact are banned or if manufactured before 86 heavily restricted. The Colt At 15 sporter, as continuously posted was designed for civilians and cops.
As long as they have, and were designed specifically for, sporting applications...And as you say should not be banned.
Because it was modified to comply with law in order to be sold to civilians...Huey » 16 Oct 2020, 1:24 pm » wrote: ↑ Again, if it was designed for combat why was it not marketed military instead of the M 16?

and no...sitting in a lawnchair firing off a few hundred rounds doesn't qualify as "sport"...
It is relevant because you don't grasp the fact that the Armalite 15 did not become the Sporter. The M 16 was the Armalite 15. Colt simply used the name.Irrelevant...and I don't....
The AR 15 variants posted to this forum were not designed for combat. The Armalite 15 was but that was rebranded the M 16, not the Sporter. The modern day AR 15s are not designed for combat either. The Henry 45 Colt I posted a pic was SPECIFICALLY designed for combat. Should that be banned?No...not "designed for"....Military weapons may be, but not those designed for combat, as the AR15 and M16 INDISPUTABLY were...you cannot legally purchase the military VARIANTS, but you can buy the design..
Like the Original Sporter they are not designed for combat. If they were they would be marketed to the military. As long as they have, and were designed specifically for, sporting applications...
and no...sitting in a lawnchair firing off a few hundred rounds doesn't qualify as "sport"...

but it is NOT a different design, which is why it is called a "variant".
Do you know what "variant" means?
