Therefore it is cheap and not very good at military use
Actually it has to not be. That would make it illegal.

So, without modifications it would be illegal?

Too deadly. Full auto not allowed. Thats the big one. Other concerns also I am sure.Blackvegetable » 18 Oct 2020, 8:44 pm » wrote: ↑ So, without modifications it would be illegal?
Why?
"Too deadly"..FOS » 18 Oct 2020, 8:49 pm » wrote: ↑ Too deadly. Full auto not allowed. Thats the big one. Other concerns also I am sure.
The ar15 is not a particularly dangerous rifle. It isn't bad but like I said before if i went on some rampage there are other guns I would choose over it. Guns i could legally purchase for civilian use.
Well full auto is one line. Effective firing range is another. Civilians cant obtain stuff the military uses for such things.
Where is it?FOS » 18 Oct 2020, 8:52 pm » wrote: ↑ Well full auto is one line. Effective firing range is another. Civilians cant obtain stuff the military uses for such things.
Full auto is one line. Self defense range is another...which is 20 feet. But that doesn't work for hunting

Colt's civilian line of semi-automatic Colt AR-15 rifles is identified by a four digit code following a specific prefix. Initially all Colt civilian weapons were listed with an “R” prefix, with this changing to “AR” following the passage of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban in 1994. Colt also produced a line of weapons aimed at target shooters under the “MT” prefix, which stood for Match Target, as well as, the Colt Accurized Rifle, which was the only model to feature the CR prefix. Most recently with the shift in marketing policy by Colt Defense, these weapons have been given the “LE” and "LT" prefix. The "LT" series is modified version of the Colt 6720 featuring a lightweight "pencil" barrel with a free floating rail system. Only 1500 of the "LT" series were produced. Currently, Colt Defense has no line targeted specifically at the private civilian market.
Additionally, if you look at the list of civilian models under Fire Control everyone single one is S-1. That means S for safe and 1 for semiautomatic. Not one has an F for Full Auto or a number indicating the number of rounds fired in burst mode. Those are only on the Military Models.
Additionally, you just answered the question of what capabilities do the civilian model and military model share. That answer would be none because only the Colt M16 was designed for the battlefiled.
Thanks for playing.
Since it undeniably does, let's kick back for some word gamesNo sir,
So it DOES.does not show up on the list of Military Models. It shows up on the list of Colt civilian models. Scroll down until you see it.
