I have been with this forum, and the other one, since 2013. For the regulars who know me, from the beginning, know that I used to be pretty damn Republican and fit the OP's mold to the letter. I like to think I have grown since then. I don't hold the same beliefs as I did before. For example, I used to be naive enough to think that capitalism always works in the best interest of the people, which is why I used to defend corporations. Damn, was I wrong. I used to watch FOX news religiously. No more of that ****. I have shifted into views that logical seem best for the individual and the country, which is why I favor tax funded college tuition (with restrictions to specific degrees) and perhaps even universal healthcare. There were serious logical fallacies in my past views that couldn't be ignored...without coming across as an idiot.

When I was a little kid I was a big fan of Bill Clinton. 

Until it became clear that he did in fact cheat on his wife with an intern and had been lying about it.

I was astonished by that.. and also the fact that people in general were just fine with it.

Lol if I could have peered into the future and seen how much lower our moral standards would increasingly become. 

Anyway it didn't make me a gop supporter, it just made me rather apolitical.

Well, I have been on this one and the other forum since 07, and honestly, the nonsense from the prog left is the same as always. Back then we did have some actual real liberals. A guy named Joe Lib comes to mind. We also had some seriously stupid ****. I can't remember the tards name, but he claimed to be a college professor from Jersey and was dumber than a box of rocks.

I also turned 68 last week, and I do not care anymore. I have no financial worries, I love to fish the Gulf and bays, I enjoy playing golf twice weekly, we have our property company, and I still screw around with the old wooden boats.

I used to be, but as I aged, I always asked myself if I could change the outcome.  If the answer is no, my response is **** it.
