You don't seem to know what an ad hom is.

No, you're just upset because I described you to a T in the eyes of your overlords and corrected your mistake.

Makes no difference to me, just as I don't care if people believe in fairy godmothers or voodoo magic or ancient spirits or whatever.

That was my response also.

I’m not upset, but you seem like you might be.

I pointed out your mistakes and you accused me of making ad homs (?).

Either way it's not my job to inform/educate you so have a nice day.

SJ is a smart guy. I think it is a civic duty to bully him into the correct worldview.

lmao

If you blame gridlock for the lack of what you think the country needs (infrastructure projects), that's an error. I could name at least 2 more if I bothered to comb through every post you made in this thread.

If you work for a boss, you are a pawn/tool (unless you are indispensable like some NBA/NFL player or music star who gets paid > $1M a year), so there's that.

Really, it's amazing how you manage to contradict yourself so quickly/effortlessly, since you were the one who argued billionaires get a free ride off middle-class/upper middle class working taxpayers while the billionaire parasites pay almost nothing.

Assuming you are middle class that by definition makes you a sucker/tool that supports the billionaires, so yeah, you contradicted yourself again.

He's irked because I said he was a pawn/tool (in the eyes of the oligarchs). I don't mince words so I'm used to people getting upset @ me.

How to tell if you are a pawn/tool for the oligarchs 101:

1 - you pay taxes instead of doing 1031 RE transactions/defer taxes via business losses/use "charitable foundations"/borrow against equity/etc.

2 - you are not retired/you are working for someone else as an employee and making < $1M/yr (which implies you are disposable)

3 - you vote for candidates/think candidates will "change the system and help the country"

4 - you unwittingly spread propaganda that benefits (((CERTAIN PEOPLE)))

I probably missed 2-3 points but that about summarizes 80% of the population.

He's irked because he really wants to think that political parties matter.

Thus he told me all sorts of silly stuff about liberals vs conservatives.

Which I just laughed off.

I mean, without parties what have you got?

Well...a boot stomping on your face forever. Yeah....now do something about it.

I mean...I'm trying

how did I contradict myself?  Nothing in my writing exonerates billionaires or politicians, totally the contrary.  I think you somehow missed my point.

I KNOW that the stalemate in DC is by design, it’s all kabuki theatre.  My point is not that the parties are hopelessly deadlocked - THE PEOPLE ARE.  We are incredibly divided, and that’s why nothing can get done- there is always half the population opposing any agenda just because of who brought it to the table!

it’s not that human nature cannot be cooperative, we have built the interstate highway system, the Suez Canal, Mount Rushmore, etc.. we put a man on the moon, which took enormous resources and collective will.

It’s a sign of the times that we cannot come together anymore for any good purpose.  It’s a reflection of how easily people are divided once you introduce television and internet for a few decades, and sling nonstop propaganda in ways that stimulate the brains of the peons with pixelated, endorphin rushes of nonsense and lies.

If the people cannot ever come together, even on matters of facts and common sense, it matters not what the politicians do.

Woah.

Reread this.

Human nature? Can we refine that a bit?

I enjoy the verbal sparring, but the name calling bores me, sorry.  Have at it if you must, your content is otherwise usually quite good.

human nature can be either cooperative or competitive, at different times and places, in reaction to different circumstances.

Is that controversial?
