Joe Biden’s Build Back Better plan ensures that – coming out of this profound public health and economic crisis, and facing the persistent climate crisis – we are never caught flat-footed again. He will launch a national effort aimed at creating the jobs we need to build a modern, sustainable infrastructure now and deliver an equitable clean energy future.

Biden will make a $2 trillion accelerated investment, with a plan to deploy those resources over his first term, setting us on an irreversible course to meet the ambitious climate progress that science demands.Biden will make far-reaching investments in:
  • Infrastructure: Create millions of good, union jobs rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure – from roads and bridges to green spaces and water systems to electricity grids and universal broadband – to lay a new foundation for sustainable growth, compete in the global economy, withstand the impacts of climate change, and improve public health, including access to clean air and clean water.
  • Auto Industry: Create 1 million new jobs in the American auto industry, domestic auto supply chains, and auto infrastructure, from parts to materials to electric vehicle charging stations, positioning American auto workers and manufacturers to win the 21st century; and invest in U.S. auto workers to ensure their jobs are good jobs with a choice to join a union.
  • Transit: Provide every American city with 100,000 or more residents with high-quality, zero-emissions public transportation options through flexible federal investments with strong labor protections that create good, union jobs and meet the needs of these cities – ranging from light rail networks to improving existing transit and bus lines to installing infrastructure for pedestrians and bicyclists.
  • Power Sector: Move ambitiously to generate clean, American-made electricity to achieve a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035. This will enable us to meet the existential threat of climate change while creating millions of jobs with a choice to join a union.
  • Buildings: Upgrade 4 million buildings and weatherize 2 million homes over 4 years, creating at least 1 million good-paying jobs with a choice to join a union; and also spur the building retrofit and efficient-appliance manufacturing supply chain by funding direct cash rebates and low-cost financing to upgrade and electrify home appliances and install more efficient windows, which will cut residential energy bills.
  • Housing: Spur the construction of 1.5 million sustainable homes and housing units.
  • Innovation: Drive dramatic cost reductions in critical clean energy technologies, including battery storage, negative emissions technologies, the next generation of building materials, renewable hydrogen, and advanced nuclear – and rapidly commercialize them, ensuring that those new technologies are made in America.
  • Agriculture and Conservation: Create jobs in climate-smart agriculture, resilience, and conservation, including 250,000 jobs plugging abandoned oil and natural gas wells and reclaiming abandoned coal, hardrock, and uranium mines – providing good work with a choice to join or continue membership in a union in hard hit communities, including rural communities, reducing leakage of toxics, and preventing local environmental damage.
  • Environmental Justice: Ensure that environmental justice is a key consideration in where, how, and with whom we build – creating good, union, middle-class jobs in communities left behind, righting wrongs in communities that bear the brunt of pollution, and lifting up the best ideas from across our great nation – rural, urban, and tribal.
The agenda is to raise taxes on the wealthiest and create good government jobs with that revenue, investing in the country, as we have not done since the 1950s under Eisenhower.

Biden may not be the spritual successor of FDR, but he is trying to be, and McConnell is the villain opposing him.  Biden cannot undertake this enormously difficult task without compromise, that is why he can't do anything about the Israel-Palestine situation.  He can't do everything at once.  Haters against him may stop him from doing anything at all.

This country has been neglected for so long, the rebuilding of infrastructure is really task # 1.

I didn't know if I was going to like Biden 6 months ago. I was prepared for him to get in office and immediately push for a tax cut for the rich, and he is the FIRST president in my lifetime who did NOT do that. That alone won me over.

It's almost like a puppet show. Good puppet biden vs. bad puppet mcconnell.

Watch where the strings lead. And alert me when the rich actually DO take a hit - not just the jaw jacking. I can see the jaw jacking for myself, thanks.

How soon can we expect Glass Steagall back? Without that, Reaganomics continues to rampage through the good offices of the Biden Administration, and he remains an establishment Reagan Democrat.

That is shocking to hear, what with all those "shovel-ready" jobs that Obama funded.

Pretty sure Trump was big on infrastructure, too.

Good to know biden has HIS shoulder to the wheel. Three is a charm.

They already have what they want. His job is to maintain it.

He's doing a fine job.

Is that why illegal immigration is desired by ruling elites that work from the idea "If leaderships cannot change their people, then change the people being led into tomorrow.".

I was never a hater on Obama, or Trump.  I tend to support whoever is in office, which might make me the most patriotic American here, amongst this pit of partisan vipers who always put party over country.  With all due respect to this lively forum...

But I never get weepy over a flag fluttering in the breeze lol

The only president I would go out and protest in the last 40 years was Bush Jr, cuz he was a war criminal.

So long as Biden keeps pretending to fight the good fight against the "bad" puppet, he will remain your hero, zero.

You are a puppet show putz and a good little establishment democrat.

The reason I nearly always support the president, is that he is usually a decent leader beset by vipers. All the hate he gets makes it harder to do anything as a country, it compromises his ability to push an agenda, any agenda.

If there is any decent impulse within a POTUS, what will bring it out? Wide support from the populace. What will squash it and make him vulnerable to the vipers? constant criticism, cynicism and hate.

You see McConnell doesn't want anything to change which is the very definition of establishment. Biden wants to change things which is the very definition of anti establishment.

Are you so retarded you think I'm a mcconnell defender, assey?

Or are you so retarded that you are trying whataboutism to somehow "defend" Biden's record?

You don't DENY that he voted for bush's wars. You just ****, "well so did mitch, so there!"

You truly are retarded. :)

You see the establishment doesn't want the truth about race in America to be taught in college. They want the status quo. The establishment will fight hard to keep real history from being taught.

Biden did vote with the Republicans a lot in his career.  I havent forgotten the horrible 1994 crime bill either..

I am judging him based on recent performance, not from 20 to 30 years ago.  I am an eternal optimist.

Well let's all hold the viper on our shoulders, that he not be beset by decent people.

This is the guy who voted for war crimes - according to his defender.
