I've long opined that there was much more to the seditious Capitol Insurrection of January 6th, that others, within and without our government were involved. NOT that it'd matter worth a flying to Trump's MAGAs ANYWAY.  Considering 66 percent of them (yes, that's two out of every three) don't consider the riot an insurrection at all, and 77 percent of them don't think Trump had anything to DO with it... as per the right wing Bizarro world alternate reality.

Since you're SO convinced there was an insurrection, why is it that NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THE PROTESTERS was charged with that crime?

And the reality is that you idiot Democrats KNEW bringing such a charge would have returned a Not Guilty verdict on everyone charged, which would have made your ability to continue to use that lie that much more difficult in next year's election campaign.
 

Notice how there was NO lapdog media coverage of the week long insurrection of the environmental wackos protesting at the White House and violent take over and occupying of the Interior Dept. building. More than 600 were "arrested". Some for assaulting police officers. With at least one security officer being injured.

Who lowered the security to allow the extremely exploitable photo op? There was shenanigans but not the variety you think. If this really was a planned takeover of the government do you really believe they would have invaded the building unarmed? Really think it would have been limited to a few hundred disorganized idiots? That makes no sense. It was no more of a planned Insurrection than any of the 700 blm riots we saw a few months earlier.

Merrick Garland is right to be wary of political prosecutions. But he needs to investigate Trump.

That is the thorny dilemma confronting Attorney General Merrick Garland now that the House has voted to hold former Trump White House aide Stephen K. Bannon in criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with an investigation of the events of Jan. 6. Whether or not the Justice Department prosecutes Bannon will signal whether Garland will remain content to target the rank-and-file terrorists who invaded the Capitol — to date some 650 suspects have been arrested — or whether he will go after the capos who incited the insurrection.
