Based on your logic, if a spouse of someone, (even if they were not in the US on Jan 6) covered a participant on the health insurance available through their employer...that spouse would forever be barred from holding an elected office...or be appointed to a position of trust...at the federal level. Providing payment for medical care would be giving aid and comfort.
